Frank Powell Overby, age 75, of Abilene, Va., died Tuesday, September 18, 2007.
He was born on May 25, 1932 in Halifax County. Surviving are his wife, Frances Overby; three sons, Alvin B. Powell of Texas, Danny Overby and wife Julia of Keysville, Dennis Overby and wife Rita of Keysville; four daughters, Rebecca F. Powell of Farmville, Rhonda J. Anderson and husband Jay of Burkeville, Lisa C. Tillman and husband Donald Clark of Williamsburg, Sandy Flynn and husband Danny of Keysville; nine grandchildren, Cary Wertheimer, Chris Wertheimer, Cody Chenault, Ben Roselle, Madeline Tillman, Christopher Clark, Chase Flynn, Dustin Flynn, Casey Flynn; one brother, Ernest Overby and wife Doris; two sisters, Mildred Shelton and husband Charlie, and Kitty Pembleton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2007 in Mt. Nebo Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning Funeral Home in Keysville on Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mt. Nebo Building Fund.
